Deye SUN-SMART-CT01 (CT01) and SUN-SMART-TX01 (TX01) form an intelligent metering and wireless communication kit for PV energy storage systems. Designed exclusively for Deye hybrid inverters, they enable accurate bi-directional grid energy metering, wireless data transmission, and optimized self-consumption, solving common challenges such as difficult wiring, inaccurate metering, and delayed control.

Core Functions

1.1 CT01 – Wireless Bi-Directional Smart Meter (Monitoring Core)

Real-time measurement of grid voltage, current, power, frequency, active/reactive energy, with bi-directional metering for grid import and PV export.

Built-in LCD display for local data viewing; DIN-rail mountable for residential and small commercial distribution boards.

Integrated LoRa module for wireless data transmission, eliminating long-distance cabling.

1.2 TX01 – LoRa Communication Module (Transmission Hub)

Acts as a wireless bridge between CT01 and the inverter, receiving LoRa signals and forwarding metering data.

Plug-and-play design, connecting directly to the inverter’s communication port as an alternative to RS485 wiring.

Supports external USB-C power supply for compatibility with various Deye inverter models.

Installation & Wiring

2.1 CT01 Installation (Distribution Board Side)

Mount CT01 on a DIN rail inside the distribution board.
Pass grid current cables through the supplied current transformers (CTs).
Connect phase and neutral wires for voltage sampling.
Power on and configure the CT ratio via the local keypad for calibration.

2.2 TX01 Installation (Inverter Side)

Install TX01 near the inverter.
Use an RJ45 cable to connect the TX01 Meter port to the inverter’s Meter/COM port.
For inverters without power output on the communication port, power the TX01 via an external 5V USB-C adapter.

Full Connection & Operation with Inverter

3.1 System Link Confirmation

CT01 collects grid energy data → transmits wirelessly via LoRa to TX01 → TX01 sends data to the inverter via RJ45 cable, forming a complete communication chain.

3.2 Inverter Parameter Configuration

Access the inverter interface: Settings → Advanced Settings → Meter Settings.
Select meter type: Deye CT01 (LoRa).
Set communication mode to Meter Port and enable grid metering.
Enable Self-Consumption Mode or Anti-Backfeed Control based on system requirements.

3.3 Function Activation & Data Monitoring

Once enabled, the inverter reads real-time grid power, load power, and bi-directional energy.
Excess PV power charges the battery or supplies local loads; during peak periods, the battery discharges to reduce grid import.
Real-time data can be monitored on the inverter screen or Deye Cloud APP to verify normal connection.

3.4 LoRa Pairing

CT01 and TX01 pair automatically upon power-up. A slow-blinking LoRa LED indicates successful pairing. If pairing fails, restart both devices to retry.

Common Fault Troubleshooting

4.1 LoRa Pairing Failure / No Data Transmission

Ensure distance between CT01 and TX01 is within 200m, with minimal obstructions from thick walls or metal cabinets.
Verify stable power supply to TX01 and normal LoRa LED status.
Keep away from strong electromagnetic interference sources such as frequency converters or EV chargers.

4.2 Inverter Shows “Meter Not Connected”

Check that the RJ45 cable is securely connected.
Confirm correct meter type and communication port settings in the inverter.
Restart TX01 and inverter to re-establish communication.

4.3 Inaccurate Metering or Reverse Power Reading

Verify CT ratio matches the transformer rating.
Check CT cable direction; reverse wiring or adjust power direction in settings if needed.
Recheck phase sequence and voltage wiring.

4.4 Frequent Data Disconnection

Relocate TX01 to improve LoRa signal strength.
Use a stable 5V power adapter to avoid power fluctuation-related dropouts.
