1. Cooling and Appearance
SUN-8K-SG02LP1-EU-AM2 features three external cooling fans on the left side. It supports ear-mount installation and excludes a back mounting plate. Notably, it does not include D4B PV connectors.
SUN-8K-SG05LP1-EU uses two bottom-mounted cooling fans (1 large + 1 small) and includes PV connectors. It is supplied with a wall-mounting plate.
SUN-8K-SG05LP1-EU-SM2 also adopts the dual bottom-fan setup. It improves aesthetics and installation convenience with a screw-free, latch-opening front cover and included wall-mounting plate.
2. Electrical Input and PV Configuration
All three models share the same maximum PV input current of 26 + 26 A, and support 2 / 2 + 2 PV string inputs, ensuring flexibility in solar array configuration.
3. Inside Structure and Circuit Design
SUN-8K-SG02LP1-EU-AM2 stands out with two ICT ports, PV quick-connect terminals, and two rapid-shutdown interfaces. It includes one 12 Vdc auxiliary power supply and provides improved isolation and driver boards over the SG05 platform. However, it reuses the Wi-Fi board.
SUN-8K-SG05LP1-EU includes one ICT port and uses D4B (MC4-type) connectors. It lacks rapid-shutdown ports and does not feature a 12 V auxiliary output.
SUN-8K-SG05LP1-EU-SM2 builds on the SG05LP1-EU, retaining one ICT port, D4B connectors, and two rapid-shutdown ports. It includes a 12 Vdc auxiliary output and introduces a DIP-switch control on the ATS port for more configuration flexibility.
4. PCB and Board Architecture
SUN-8K-SG02LP1-EU-AM2 offers additional isolation and driver boards compared to SG05. The Wi-Fi module is reused, not newly integrated.
SUN-8K-SG05LP1-EU uses a baseline SG05 PCB stack without additional enhancements.
SUN-8K-SG05LP1-EU-SM2 shares the core architecture with SG05 but incorporates new main control, LCD, and extra auxiliary boards, with DRM board support as standard.
5. Size and Weight
SG02LP1-EU-AM2 is the largest and heaviest at 420 × 670 × 233 mm and 35.6 kg.
SG05LP1-EU is more compact at 330 × 580 × 232 mm, weighing 24.9 kg.

The three models show significant variance in port layout and CT interface support:
SG02LP1-EU-AM2 has two CT interfaces, PV quick-connect terminals, and two rapid-shutdown ports with 12 V auxiliary output.
SG05LP1-EU supports one CT interface, D4B connectors, and lacks both rapid-shutdown and auxiliary power.
