The SUN-100K-PCS01HP3 and SUN-125K-PCS01HP3 share the same cabinet, the same 630-1000V battery voltage range, and the same self-adapting BMS charging strategy. What separates them is current handling and rated output, and that difference is what actually determines which one belongs in a given project.
Both units accept a single battery input and support lithium-ion chemistry exclusively, so the decision between them comes down to how much power the site needs to move, not compatibility with the battery rack.

The SUN-100K-PCS01HP3 is rated for 175A maximum charging and discharging current. The SUN-125K-PCS01HP3 steps up to 200A on both sides. That 25A gap is the practical limit on how fast either unit can move energy into or out of a battery rack during a charge or discharge cycle, and it scales directly with the difference in rated active power between the two models.
Rated AC input/output active power is 100kW for the smaller unit and 125kW for the larger one. Apparent power follows the same ratio: 110kVA maximum for the SUN-100K-PCS01HP3 against 125kVA for the SUN-125K-PCS01HP3. On the current side, rated AC input/output current runs 151.6A/145A on the 100kW unit versus 189.4A/181.2A on the 125kW unit, with maximum AC current reaching 166.7A/159.5A and 189.4A/181.2A respectively.
Both models share the same voltage window — 220/380V or 230/400V, 0.85Un to 1.1Un — and the same 3L+N+PE grid connection form, so the AC side wiring approach doesn't change between the two; only the conductor sizing needs to account for the higher current on the 125kW unit.
Efficiency is where the two models converge rather than diverge. Both reach a maximum efficiency of 98.5% and a Euro efficiency of 97.8%, with MPPT efficiency exceeding 99% when paired with the MPPT module. Total current harmonic distortion stays under 3% of nominal power on both units, and DC injection current is held below 0.5% In. In other words, choosing the 100kW over the 125kW model isn't a conversion-efficiency tradeoff — it's purely a question of throughput.
Equipment protection is identical across both models: AC output overcurrent and overvoltage protection, short circuit protection, thermal protection, anti-islanding protection, insulation impedance detection, and residual current detection, backed by Type II surge protection on both DC and AC sides. Both carry an IP65 rating on the PCS module, an operating temperature range of -40°C to 60°C with derating above 45°C, and support altitudes up to 4000m.
Communication interfaces — WIFI, RS485, CAN, and Meter — and the LCD display are the same on both units, so integration with a commercial and industrial ESS setup doesn't change based on which PCS rating is selected. Warranty terms of 5 or 10 years, depending on installation site, also apply equally to both models.

For a project sized around 100kW increments, or where the STS module's five-PCS-per-unit ratio needs to be maximized, the SUN-100K-PCS01HP3 is the natural fit. For projects that need to reach the 2.5MW ceiling with fewer PCS units, or where the STS module's four-PCS ratio for 125kW units better matches the site's power budget, the SUN-125K-PCS01HP3 is the better starting point. Either way, the two models can be mixed within the broader large-scale battery energy storage lineup as long as the STS module's per-model PCS limits are respected.
